However, if you encounter difficulties in accessing the network, it could be due to simple reasons that you are able to rectify on your own.
Here is a simple Streamyx connection checklist for you to go through before you call TM Contact Centre at 100 for assistance
- Ensure that your phone line has a dial tone. Check your phone cable to see if it is properly plugged in.
- Ensure that your phone is in good working condition and you are able to make and receive calls.
- Ensure that your bill payment is up to date and no "FA Reminder" is included in your latest bill. Otherwise, your account may have been suspended due to non-payment. Settle your outstanding balance at the nearest TMpoint for reactivation of the service.
- Check your modem:
- It is switched “ON”.
- The “DSL” light is steadily lit and not blinking.
- The “LAN” light is ”ON”. If not, you may need to replace your physical Network Interface Card (NIC) or LAN Connection Card.
- If you still can’t access the Internet, try connecting your modem directly to the wall socket, bypassing the splitter, microfilter, router or any related equipment in between. If the DSL light becomes stable, then the problem may be due to your internal wiring that connects to the PC.
When to call for assistance
If there is no dial tone on your phone line.
- If your modem DSL light is “OFF” or blinking. Note the pop-up error number or message on your computer, if any.
